Name Maryanne OliverAbout "making a beautiful mess ♥ ♡" Maryanne Oliver originally from Toowoomba Queensland, is a Brisbane based artist/illustrator. Maryanne draws inspiration from the colour and beauty of life ... from the desire to live this life like an illustrated adventure by creating female characters that bring happiness, colour and a playfulness to life! Art that inspires the desire to live life and your dreams exactly how you wish ... without fear, remaining positive, always being brave and never accepting the ordinary. In 2008 Maryanne held solo exhibitions at Joshua Levi Gallery and RAW SPACE GALLERIES. Maryanne was also Artist in Residence at RAW SPACE GALLERIES (South Brisbane) for 12 months in 2009. From 2006-2009 Maryanne's work was exclusively represented by Tiffany Jones Fine Art in Buderim, alongside distinguished Australian artists such as Pro Hart, Norman Lindsay and Margaret Olley. While her international career takes off, Maryanne continues to be an important advocator for Brisbane's fluctuating, but definitively unique arts scene. It is for this reason, and with great pleasure and pride, Maryanne chose to hold her highly anticipated exhibition with Brisbane's most exciting and only independent centre for the arts, The Fort Arts Hub. This very special show featured one-off collaborations with NYC's Destroy and Rebuild artist Avone. Maryanne spent a month with Avone in NYC to complete this exciting body of work before returning to Brisbane for the big opening of "BQE - Brooklyn-Queens(land) Expressway" Exhibition in October 2010. Most recently Maryanne worked on the "Dream Travels" exhibition. Two of Brisbane’s most prolific graffiti artists, Sofles and Treaz, bumped talents with two other Brisvegan locals, the celebrated fine artist Maryanne Oliver, and visual contorter Yuin Huz. This “awesome foursome” collaborated on a shared vision, transforming the beautiful heritage walls of The Bleeding Heart Gallery into imaginative dreamscapes of colour and creativity. “These four hugely talented and distinguished artists have come together to illustrate their visions of the not-always-seen world around us. From 22 July – 1 August they will share their mastery, mystery and metamorphosis with the broader community at Brisbane’s finest “profit for purpose” gallery, Bleeding Heart”. A creative manifestation of raw imagination and aesthetic appeal, this unique one-off exhibition presented a facade of visionary works, exploring subjects as defined as “quantum theory, astral projection, and reincarnation” and utilised a range of artistic mediums including acrylics, water colours, paint, inks, paint pens, brushes, rollers, stencils, and of course, aerosol.
